Gravity Groms
Gravity Groms is an 6 week climbing program for youth ages 4-8yrs old. Curriculum is based on a progression of hard and soft skills including warm up and floor exercises, gear knowledge, climbing techniques, safety and risk awareness, team work and group initiatives, technical climbing skills, communication skills and of course lots of experiential fun. Rental gear included.

Junior Recreational Climbing Team 8-12
This Youth Recreational Climbing Team is a 6 week program for youth ages 8-12. No climbing skill or experience is required. Curriculum is based on a progression of skill and knowledge in the following learning objectives: Floor exercises and stretching, basic climbing skill and technique, rope and gear management, belaying, climber communication, group dynamics and initiatives, and of course plenty of experiential learning along the way.
Meets weekly on Tuesdays 4:00-5:30
$280 (includes membership)

Advanced Recreational Climbing Team 12-18
This Youth Recreational Climbing Team is a 6 week program for youth ages 12-18. Some climbing skill and experience is recommended. Curriculum is based on a progression of skill and knowledge in the following learning objectives: Floor exercises and stretching, basic climbing skill and technique, rope and gear management, belaying, climber communication, group dynamics and initiatives, and of course plenty of experiential learning along the way.
*If no previous climbing experience, please consider joining our Climbing 101 course before joining the Recreational Team.
Meets weekly on Thursdays 4:00-5:30

Weekend Explorers Climbing Sessions (ages 8 and up)
The weekend Explorers Climbing Sessions are open enrollment climbing sessions catered to the novice/beginner climber ages 8 and up. Sign up for one or multiple sessions. Curriculum is focused on hard and soft skills including, knowledge of climbing gear, climbing technique, belaying, knot tying, and climber communication. A great starting point for youth interested in joining our Recreation Teams, no experience required. Rental gear included.
Sessions available Saturdays and Sundays 12:00- 2:00pm
$35 per session - Please register ahead of time.
Homeschool Groups
Homeschool Gravity Groms
Gravity Groms is an 6 week climbing program for youth ages 4-8yrs old. Homeschool Recreational Climbing Team
Ages 8 and Up
The Homeschool Youth Recreational Climbing Team is intended for the Durango area Homeschooler or Non-Traditional student. This is a 6 week program for youth ages 8 and up. No climbing skill or experience is required. Curriculum is based on a progression of skill and knowledge in the following learning objectives: Floor exercises and stretching, basic climbing skill and technique, rope and gear management, belaying, climber communication, group dynamics and initiatives, and of course plenty of experiential learning along the way.
This group meets Wednesdays 10:00-11:30am.
$280 (includes membership)

3 Day Teen Gym to Crag Course (ages 12-18) - Parents welcome to join this course as well
In this collaboration between Gravity Lab and San Juan Expeditions, teens learn how to apply climbing skills, technique and communication skills in an outdoor climbing setting. Learn the necessary skills and familiarize yourself with the gear and technique needed to safely climb at our local Durango Crags.
Day 1 - Orientation, skill building, rope management and climbing technique. 8am-1pm at Gravity Lab
Day 2 - Advanced skills and outdoor climbing etiquette at a local Durango Crag. 8am-1pm location TBD
Day 3 - Level up your climbing and push your abilities with more advanced climbs and ongoing application of skills and learnings. 8am-1pm location TBD
