Lead Climbing Clinic

In this Lead Climbing Clinic, participants will learn essential techniques to sport lead climbing and lead belaying. You will have the opportunity to practice catching and taking lead falls. We will focus on restful clipping stances and how to avoid improper clips, like “backclipping.” This is a great class for climbers interested in moving towards leading sport climbs outside, as we will review basic anchor set-up, cleaning practices and lowering as well. Some basic experience and skill is required for this course. Participants must have knowledge and proficiency in basic tie in knots and belaying.
